Published: 02-Feb-2010

Campbell Construction has secured $2,223,207 million sewer and water project from the Yerington City Council for the industrial area at the north end of the city.

The project is funded by a US Army Corps of Engineers grant. The project work involves laying new water pipes. The new pipes are an extension of underground water lines from Oregon Street through the airport area (under runways), under the Walker River to tie into other lines near the Peri's onion sheds near the base of McLeod Hill. This project is part of a 12-inch line system carrying water from the California St. well. The work also includes a 1,000,000 gallon water tank.

The sewer works of the project includes an extension from the sewer plant to the onion sheds area, located at the north end of the approved utility area (Reviglio project) and addition of a new sewer lift station on the west side of the river near the now-closed milk processing plant.
